From the South Carolina Gazette.  Charlestown, Feb. 24.  The
following lines were sent us some days ago, when a report
prevailed on an intended invasion,--and as such a report is
again revived, perhaps they may not be unseasonable now.
  Oh! why is British virtue at a stand?
  Arm Britons, arm, and guard your threat'ned land.
  Arm for your country, 'tis a glorious cause;
  Arm for your safety, and defend your laws'
